ESD Tutorials – March 19, 2019
What are the requirements and instructions for packaging and the safe transport of ESDS? From what material may these be and what must be avoided at all costs? How can the material properties be measured and what should be considered?
These and others questions arise permanently, because electronic components are becoming smaller and smaller. Thus, they are also getting more sensitive against electrostatic charges and fields. It is necessarily to protect the ESDS, especially when transporting it, but also when storing it in appropriate packaging.
This ESD Tutorial tries to answer precisely these and other current questions. Beside basic background information, ESD forms of protection, current standards as well as the performance and evaluation of measurements form an important focus of the tutorial.
Focus for this turn: basics, definitions, ESD safety steps, standards & measurements
